Why Borrow from us?

The answer is simple – we offer very good value.

There is a wide choice of borrowing facilities available to members. Interest rates are very competitive and vary with each loan type. The main advantages of a credit union loan are:

  • Competitive interest rates
  • Repayments calculated on the reducing balance of the loan. This means smaller interest repayments as the loan is repaid
  • No hidden fees or transaction charges
  • No penalty for early repayments
  • Flexible repayment options to suit your particular circumstances
  • Free life assurance, subject to terms and conditions, on the loan balance

The added benefits of borrowing from Rathkeale & District Credit Union make our loans very attractive.

How Do I Apply for a Loan?

Call into one of our three branch offices in Rathkeale, Adare or Croom to make an application with the assistance of one of our staff members. To ensure that the application can be processed as fast as possible members are advised to bring all the relevant documentation as set out below;

  • 3 current payslips
  • Bank statement showing last 3 months transactions
  • If self employed, most recent set of accounts.

Or call your local branch office with your account number, and a member of staff will take your application over the phone.

Like all Credit Unions our loan approval process is governed by internal policies as well as requirements set out in law. We do our best to make a quick decision on your application. All applications are treated confidentially and on their own merits. The key consideration is a member’s ability to make the loan repayments over the term of the loan.

Under the Credit Reporting Act 2013 lenders are required to provide personal and credit information for credit applications and credit agreements of €500 and above to the Central Credit Register. This information will be held on the Central Credit Register and may be used by other lenders when making decisions on your credit applications and credit agreements.
