Rathkeale & District Credit Union, together with Kilmallock Credit Union are delighted to host a FREE Information evening for parents and students of TY, 5th and 6th years on preparing for the upcoming Leaving Cert and going to college. The evening is open to all parents and students across the locality.

We have organised a number of key speakers, detailed below and staff from the Credit Unions will also be available to discuss any questions you may have in relation to education loans and services.

Professor Teresa O’Doherty, President of the Marino Institute of Education and the former Dean of Education with Mary Immaculate College, will discuss the process and challenges involved in moving from secondary school to third level education.

Niamh Prendiville, an experienced Career Guidance Counsellor and current National Secretary of the Institute of Guidance Counsellors, will discuss career guidance and the options open to students if they are not offered their preferred course choice.

Nicola Hogg, accredited Psychotherapist will discuss managing stress for both parents and students in the run up to the exams, and the importance of managing emotional health.

Cian Power, Budgetary Advice Officer in UCC. Cian will share his knowledge of the costs involved in attending college, the SUSI grant and coping with college life.

Adrian O’Brien, Owner of O’Brien Fitness and an Athletic Performance Coach, will give some practical advice on maintaining a healthy body and mind when faced with hours of sitting while studying.
